We would like to draw your attention to the annual International School of Volcanology proposed by the AIV (Associazione Italiana di Vulcanologia) in collaboration with INGV (Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia) with topic

"Explosive basaltic volcanism: case studies of Mt. Etna and Hyblean plateau"

The  school has the aim to improve the scientific background concerning the dynamics of the explosive volcanism in basaltic systems, which originates and develops differently than its counterpart in more evolved systems. Scenarios of the school will be the deposits associated to the activity of Mount Etna volcano and the Hyblean Plateau, south-eastern sector of Sicily. The school is addressed to graduate and Ph.D. students as well as post-docs in volcanology and will take place in Nicolosi (Catania, Italy) from September 27 to October 1.
Fees are 350 Euro, including: registration, school material, 5 nights accommodation, breakfast, dinners, internal transport and the AIV 2011 membership.

Deadlines are
Early registration, June 25th 2010
Final registration, July 30th 2010
