Joint Workshop on "EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL MODELING APPROACHES TO INVESTIGATE GRAVITY FLOWS"
In the frame of the PRIN-PNRR project "Improving the modeling capabilities of geophysical granular flows through experimental and numerical simulations" we are delighted to announce a Workshop event for PhD students and Early-Career Researchers: "EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL MODELING APPROACHES TO INVESTIGATE GRAVITY FLOWS".
The event will be held from 15 to 19 September 2025 both at the University of Bari (School, 3 days) and University of Calabria (Experimental workshop at the CAMILAB laboratory facilities, 2 days) and it's dedicated to open questions and future perspectives on laboratory modeling - from experimental to numerical aspect - of volcanic, gravity-driven, particulate flows, such as pyroclastic density currents, debris avalanches, block and ash flows, debris flows.
To do this an important team of international experts has been involved (see details in the attached flyer).
Participation fees are of €30, including AIV 2025 membership (if not present), light lunches and within-event transfer Bari-Rende-Bari.
Subscriptions are possible up to May 31 at the AIV website (APPLICATION FORM), but will be closed when the maximum of 35 participants will be reached.
